What WriteSEO Does

WriteSEO is a Chrome extension that helps you optimize content for SEO while you write. It analyzes text in your browser and provides keyword suggestions, readability scores, and content structure recommendations.

Data We Collect

WriteSEO collects the minimum data necessary to function:

• Content text: When you click "Analyze," the text from your current editor is sent to our API for analysis. This text is processed in real-time and not stored on our servers.
• Target keywords: The keywords you enter for optimization. These are not stored after the analysis is complete.
• IP address: Used solely for rate limiting (preventing abuse of the free tier). Not logged or stored.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect browsing history
• We do not collect personal information (name, email) unless you create an account
• We do not track which websites you visit
• We do not sell any data to third parties
• We do not use cookies or tracking pixels

Permissions Explained

• activeTab: Allows the extension to read text from the current tab only when you activate it. It cannot access other tabs.
• storage: Stores your preferences (like saved keywords) locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.
• sidePanel: Opens the WriteSEO analysis panel alongside your content.

Third-Party Services

WriteSEO uses OpenAI's API to generate keyword suggestions and content analysis. Text sent for analysis is processed by OpenAI according to their privacy policy. OpenAI does not use API inputs to train their models.

Data Retention

We do not retain any content or keyword data after analysis is complete. All processing happens in real-time and results are returned directly to your browser.
